Summer in the south is sweltering. It is not mildly warm or a little bit hot…it is downright unpleasant! Of course, maybe that is because I grew up in New England and didn’t have to worry about sweating to death just walking to the mailbox in the afternoon! I have found that the best way to stay cool in the southern summers is to stay hydrated. I have a glass of something loaded with ice-cubes by my side just about all day. While water is a great way to stay hydrated it is also a tad bit boring after about the 5 th glass! So, I have found other beverages I like….preferably all natural ones that aren’t TOO sweet. When Honest Tea sent me some of their Honey Green Tea to try out, it was a big hit with not just me but my family as well! If you haven’t tried any of the Honest beverages, here is a little bit about the company from their website:
Honest Tea seeks to create and promote great-tasting, truly healthy, organic beverages. We strive to grow our business with the same honesty and integrity we use to craft our products, with sustainability and great taste for all. We will never claim to be a perfect company, but we will address difficult issues and strive to be honest about our ability or inability to resolve them.
The Honest line of beverages comes in many different varieties. They make 30 different drinks with varying levels of sweetness. One of my daughter’s all time favorites is the Honest Ade. I am one of those mean moms who doesn’t buy her kids drinks with artificial flavors or colors but with the Honest products, she doesn’t care that her drink isn’t neon blue! She just loves that it tastes good! We get quite a selection of Honest products to choose from at our local Publix.
For my review, I received a case of the Honest Honey Green Tea to try out. Green tea is really beneficial to your health because of the high levels of antioxidants in it. Actually, Honest green tea was independently tested as having one of the highest levels of catechins (those good antioxidants!) of any bottled tea by Men’s Health magazine. All HONEST beverages are gluten & casein-free, organic, and contain no high fructose corn syrup. The Honey Green Tea has only 70 calories PER BOTTLE and 1/2 the amount of caffeine as coffee.
Honey Green Tea from Honest Tea
My opinion: The thing I love about the Honey Green Tea from Honest Tea is that it is only lightly sweet. My mom used to make iced tea that had so much sugar in it your teeth hurt just drinking it! But, the touch of honey is just enough for me to enjoy without feeling guilty about too much extra sugar. You can still taste the actual flavor of the green tea underneath the honey, which I think is a huge plus. I really love that they use Fair Trade Certified green tea leaves in making this tea and that it is USDA certified organic. Overall, I think Honest Tea’s Honey Green Tea variety is a great tasting drink to take the heat out of summer for you!

This is one of my very favorite tea brands! The company is based very close to my home. Anyone who hasn’t should definitely give it a try!
