Kitchen accessories from Fusionbrands Up For Grabs #Bpop

In my opinion, Fall is all about food.  Of course, I sortof think that every season is all about food!  Whether I am planning healthy breakfasts for my kids to help fuel them for school or putting together a meal to throw on the grill, food is always a big part of our day.  I love kitchen accessories and my drawers and cabinets are full of gadgets that are designed to make cooking faster, easier, and less of a mess to clean up.  I was given the opportunity to work with Fusionbrands for the Blog POP event and thought this would be a great fit for our busy kitchen.  If you have never heard of Fusionbrands, here is some information about them from their website:

Fusionbrands distills the function of our common tools, gives them a spirit, and recreates them as a cast of characters soon to become fixtures in your household. They conceive with intent, design with style, and prioritize experimentation. They design to make your everyday experiences a whole lot cooler.

Fusionbrands offers a ton of different kinds of kitchen accessories.  Each one is a blend of design and function so your kitchen accessories will do the job they are supposed to with just a touch of flare.  Whether you are looking for the perfect egg cracking bowl or a set of finger tongs, these are unique items that will make mealtime preparation easier and add some style to your cooking.

For my review, I was sent 2 different kitchen accessories to try out.  The first item I tried was the poach pods.  I chose the stainless steel variety but it also comes in silicone as well.  It is:

  • High heat resistant
  • 18/8 nonstick stainless steel
  • Nonstick interior
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Set of 2 (with dark and light green silicone finger grips)
  • Poach, bake, mold, serve

Kitchen Accessories for Eggs

My opinion:  Using these cool little kitchen accessories was amazingly simple and made poaching my eggs so easy to clean up!  Just rub with a little bit of olive oil or spray with non stick spray, set them in your pan of water as it is heating up, crack your egg and wait for it to cook.  When it is done cooking, slide it out onto your toast and season to taste.  Cleanup was as simple as warm, soapy water.  I didn’t cover the pot of water and probably should have to get the top of the egg to cook a little faster but overall it was extremely easy and I was left with a very attractive looking poached egg. Unlike when I try making them in a pan of simmering water without the poach pod…then they come out rather messy and ugly!  I definitely like these!

One of the kitchen accessories that Fusionbrands carries is the food loop which I was really curious to try out.  What exactly is a food loop?  Basically it is a heat-resistant silicone food trussing tool designed to replace kitchen string and toothpicks in the prep and cooking process.  It is heat-resistant to 675°F  and made of FDA food-safe silicone.  It is nonstick, reusable, dishwasher safe and comes with a mesh storage bag.  There are 4 loops per package and they adjusts from 1″ to 4″ depending on what you are trying to tie up.  They are 15 inches long and are BPA free.  If you need them to be longer, they can link together.

Kitchen Accessories for grilling

So, my opinion:  I decided to try the food loop out on the grill.  The instructions say not to expose to open flame so to be safe I put down some foil to cook over.  I had a ton of leeks from the garden that I wanted to try grilling and I thought this would be a great way to keep them all bundled together.  You can use them to wrap a roast or to keep a whole, stuffed fish closed or anywhere else you would use kitchen string or toothpicks.  How did they work?  This was incredibly easy to use and even easier to remove and clean up.  You just slide the silicone ‘string’ into the end portion and pull to tighten.  I was trying to get it pretty small and it slipped a couple of times before I got it adjusted right.  However, once I got it in place it stayed there and held the food together nicely.  Cleanup was a snap, I just washed by hand with some warm, soapy water.  You could throw it in the dishwasher if you wanted to.  The mesh bag is a nice addition to keep the four loops together for easy storage.   I really liked the food loop and can’t wait to try it for my Chicken Kiev which I HATE trying to hold together with toothpicks!

I think that the kitchen accessories carried by Fusionbrands are both stylish and functional.  They made my mealtime prep easier and they design of the products is really stylish.
