Some people are incredibly difficult to buy gifts for. I really feel that a gift should actually MEAN something to the person you are buying it for. I am not a fan of gift cards as gifts because they are so impersonal. I would rather spend time searching for a special book, snack, or other item that has a personal meaning for the recipient. Big and expensive are not important…it really should be the thought that counts! So,when I was contacted by Paper Culture to help spread the word about their personalized photo gifts I thought this would be a great opportunity to get a personal gift for someone special in my family. If you aren’t familiar with Paper Culture, here is some information about them from their website:

I was really excited to see bamboo wall art as one of the products that Paper Culture can personalize for you. Bamboo is a great alternative to traditional wood because it is such a fast growing plant. It is actually a grass that can be harvested and keeps growing just like your lawn does! Here are a couple of other useful bamboo facts for you:
- Bamboo requires no pesticides to grow and relatively small amounts of water
- Bamboo produces more oxygen than the equivalent sized forest of trees
- Bamboo biodegrades quickly and completely
- Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world. Some species grow as much as 4 feet per day
For my review, I went onto the Paper Culture website and designed my own bamboo wall art with a personal photo. This past summer my family went up north to visit my husband’s siblings. We don’t all get together very often and since we had all the kids together it was a perfect photo opportunity! Between my husband and his 2 brothers we have 8 kids ranging in age from 4 months to 13 years. Boy, was that a little bit chaotic to get organized but we wanted a picture of all of them to remember the day by. After much giggling, shuffling of children and a tad bit of arguing we managed to get a decent photo!
Paper Culture Bamboo Wall Art
The process of designing the wall art was incredibly simple. I used a basic photo editing software to get the picture to look just right and saved it on my hard drive. Then, all I had to do on the Paper Culture website was choose the size bamboo wall art I wanted and upload the photo. Everything went pretty smoothly and the customer service people were very helpful when I had questions about the process. Delivery was fairly quick and I was very impressed with the quality of the bamboo wall art that I received. It is a very sturdy, heavy weight piece and the picture quality is very good! I think that my husband’s parents are really going to enjoy this personalized Christmas gift for a long time. They can look back on all of their grandchildren and remember the chaos of trying to wrangle 8 kids together for a photo!
If you are looking for personalized cards or photo gifts, I think Paper Culture is a great place to start. Get creative and unique gifts while supporting a company that really cares about the environment!
