We are a family full of snackers in my house. My son is forever telling me ‘I’m hungry’ and when my husband gets home from work he heads right to the pantry to find something to eat. I am always looking for healthy snacks to feed my family because if we ate junkfood every time were were hungry we would be extremely overweight! While I love giving them healthy snacks, I don’t always have a lot of time to prepare them and that is where products from Kashi come into play! Kashi makes a number of healthy snacks that you can just grab and go with. I recently got to try out the new Kashi Chocolate Soft Baked Squares and try them with my friends and their kids. I’m sure you have heard of Kashi before but here is a little bit about this company if you aren’t familiar with them:
Founded in 1984, Kashi is a pioneering natural food company dedicated to providing great tasting, nutritious foods that help people feel their best so they can do the things they want to do. As a natural lifestyle leader for more than 25 years, Kashi is on a mission to help people feel healthier and happier.
Kashi makes a ton of different types of bars, healthy cookies, and cereals. These Chocolate Soft Baked Squares are designed to be a balance between the junkfood your kid WANTS to eat and the healthy snacks we moms would prefer they be munching on. They are made with healthy ingredients like sweet potatoes and black beans which may not sound all that appealing but just don’t show your kid the label because you really would not know that they were made of beans! They are also made with seven whole grains and are loaded with fiber and protein. I especially love that they are minimally processed and free of highly refined sugars, artificial additives, and preservatives. I am always happy to find healthy snacks with NO high fructose corn syrup in them! They are sweetened with agave nectar instead and loaded with chocolate flavor.
Healthy Snacks from Kashi
So, what did I think of these bars? I really love the rich, chocolate taste, although they were a touch on the dry side for my liking. It was a little bit cakey instead of fudgy like I expected It would, however, be a perfect chocolate snack for dipping in a glass of milk! These bars were sortof hit or miss with the kids that tried them. I had some that said they were okay, others that loved them, and a few who would not finish their snack. I really think it all depends on what your kid is used to. If they are used to a store bought brownie and tons of sugar you might have a hard time converting them. I think as an adult, these are much more acceptable as a healthy snack. They are soft and full of chocolate flavor and when you consider the healthy ingredients it is worth ditching the store bought brownies and buying a box of Kashi Chocolate Soft Baked Squares instead.
I think if you are looking for new healthy snacks to try, you should definitely check out these chocolate bars. The ingredients are amazingly healthy and they have a nice chocolate flavor. You should definitely try them with a glass of milk or coffee for dunking if you are used to a moister, fudgier texture but even alone I really liked the flavor.

Yum! These are really good!
Kashi is one of my favorite go to snacks. You seldom have to even bother with reading the label. I’ve not had the chocolate squares before but I will now
We love Kashi, but haven’t tried these yet. They look delish!
I’ll check these out as I want to get more healthy snacks on hand.
These look really good! I’m still on strict diet for the next few months but when it’s over I’ll look into these.
These look really good. I love anything chocolate.
These look really good especially for my husband who loves kashi but has a hard time finding it in Krogers.
