Fitness Confidential Book Review

Getting in shape seems like a goal that I never actually achieve. I work at it a lot. I eat healthy..most of the time and exercise…sometimes. Okay, I exercise when I start to feel guilty and my pants are starting to not fit any more. It isn’t that I don’t WANT to get in shape. I just seem to lack the motivation. I am slowly working at it, though, and if you want to get in shape, too, than Fitness Confidential might be a good resource to help guide, motivate and amuse you along your journey to healthier living! My Review:

Fitness Confidential is part nutrition guide and part exercise manual with a healthy dose of realism, sarcasm and humor thrown in for good measure. There is a bit of swearing, some body humor, and a good amount of dry wit. It makes for an easy and enjoyable read! The message is pretty simple and there is nothing totally new in this book but the presentation of the material draws you in and makes you want to read it. You will learn why you should not be on Weight Watchers and how to spot a personal trainer not worth spending your money on. You will learn that yes, you really DO need to exercise in order to lose weight. There is a great selection of information on getting in shape and what you realistically need to do for it to happen. It won’t happen overnight and there is no magic pill to give you the body of a supermodel but it CAN happen. Great advice, wonderful writing style and I definitely enjoyed reading it.

  1. i need to pick a proper time to exercise. i seem to not pick a proper time and am always interrupted while I try to workout, then i have to stop.

  2. One thing I need to do is make sure I’m eating the right foods at the right time and in the right combinations. 🙂 And talk to my trainer more regularly.

  3. Honestly, I think I’d need to quit my full-time job to lose weight. I’m seeing everything my friend is doing to lose weight (she’s lost 100 lbs total over the last 4 years) and it takes so much time! But since that’s really not an option — I think I’d join a gym and start weight training. I think she’s lost the most that way.

  4. I’m good with the workouts, being active and getting my sleep, but I really need to cut down on my chocolate consumption…that is SO hard!
