Avocado and Greek Yogurt Dip Recipe

This creamy avocado and Greek yogurt dip recipe comes together in about 5 minutes.  Basically, you just upgrade your guacamole recipe by adding yogurt to it for a boost of protein.  Mash avocado in a bowl with the yogurt and add the other guacamole ingredients.  Chill and serve with chips or raw veggies! If you love homemade guacamole, the addition of Greek yogurt gives it a nice tang and creamy texture.

Avocado & Greek Yogurt Dip Recipe with cilantro, jalapeno and lime

My  love of all things guacamole

Over the last couple of years I have become obsessed with guacamole. The creamy texture and bold flavor is quite addicting. Of course, it is also rather high in fat so I try to limit how much I eat.  Adding thick and creamy Greek yogurt to my favorite dip would cut the fat and give me twice as much guacamole flavor with half the guilt!

Essentially, this higher protein version of homemade guacamole uses the same recipe as your favorite guac.  Mashed avocado, diced tomato, fresh garlic, chopped  jalapeno and plenty of cilantro and lime juice.  Before you add any of the ‘mix ins’, however, just mash the avocado with plain Greek yogurt.  Then, stir and chill as you normally would.

Best things to serve with avocado yogurt dip?

Chips are my all time favorite way to scoop up any type of dip.  However, they aren’t always the healthiest choice.  Raw vegetables are also a good choice.  My first choices are carrots and bell peppers.  Personally, I think they make the best scoopers!

There are so many types of chips and crackers on the market today, you can find healthier options if you try.  Honestly, go with a baked chip, rice cracker, or whatever your little heart desires.  Because yogurt and avocado are two seriously healthy ingredients.  You can afford to splurge a little on the rest of the snack.
