Lavender Honey Milk Bath Recipe

If you suffer from dry skin, this lavender honey milk bath recipe is just what you need. As we move from summer into fall I am excited for the temperatures to drop. One thing I am NOT looking forward to is the dry skin that comes with turning the heat on in the house. The minute the air outside starts to cool off and I have to turn my heat on I start getting dry and itchy. Milk baths are a great way to pamper your skin so that MAYBE you won’t end up itchy and dry this winter! If you enjoy making your own bath products, check out my oatmeal bath recipe, too!

Lavender Honey Milk Bath Recipe

Milk has been used as a skin conditioning treatment for an incredibly long time. Cleopatra, the queen of Egypt, used milk as her secret to beautiful, young skin. Milk is incredibly soothing. It moisturizes, reduce irritation, and lessens the signs of aging. It’s a good way to shrink pores, heal wounds and give the skin a more radiant glow. Use whole milk, not one that has had the fat removed. That fat is the part of the milk bath that helps nourish the skin. In addition to the milk, I chose to add honey which has natural antibacterial and healing properties. I also included Epsom salts to aid in soothing sore muscles and some lavender essential oil to help me sleep better at night. Add whatever essential oils that you find fit your personal needs. A raw, local honey is the best choice but you can use whatever you happen to have in your pantry.
