Tis the season to start thinking of friends and family who live far away from us but are still near to our hearts. Those are the people I like to treat by ordering them tasty gifts online and having them delivered right to their door. You may not be able to figure out what size slippers they would wear or what color kitchen towels they like best but everyone has to eat! Food gifts are my favorite gift for the hard to buy for adults in my life like parents, siblings, and especially grandparents! An organic gift basket makes a wonderful choice because not only are they filled with tasty goodness, they have a much smaller carbon footprint than some other gift baskets might have. If you are looking for an organic gift basket for your family and friends, I just received one from Eli Zabar and I am incredibly impressed not only with the food products it contained but with the packaging and presentation, too! If you aren’t familiar with Eli Zabar, here is some information about them:

Organic Gift Basket from Eli Zabar
I was incredibly impressed with the organic gift basket that I received for my review. Pictures just cannot do this basket justice! Tons of tasty organic food gifts were boxed up into a wooden crate that was lined with a kitchen towel. All of the food gifts were packaged neatly inside and wrapped with plain brown paper. There was very little plastic in this package, which I love. They packed a real pine branch inside to act as filler and tied the whole basket up with a paper type string. I love the efforts that Eli Zabar went through to minimize the environmental impact of the basket, as well as the ingredients inside. This organic gift basket comes in three different sizes, depending on how much you want to spend on your gift. Some of the items that I received in my basket included organic chocolate, fresh bread, fingerling potatoes, Meyer lemons, pasta and sauce, tea, maple syrup, and so much more!
All of the products in the basket that I have tried so far have been scrumptious! The bread has a nutty flavor with a chewy crust, the organic chocolate (dark!) was delicious and the first thing my husband grabbed when he walked in the door that day! I used the Meyer lemons in a shrimp dish and had the pasta and sauce for dinner last night. This is an organic gift basket who’s contents will keep you happy morning, afternoon and evening!
If you are looking for an organic gift basket for someone this holiday season, I highly recommend you check out Eli Zabar. Not only are the contents delicious and sustainable, the effort they make to reduce their package’s carbon footprint is remarkable!
