My husband and I are huge tea drinkers and my tea cabinet looks just a tad bit overflowing because I just cannot resist trying out a new tea! I am starting to have to stack my teas on top of mugs, in drawers, and on counters…I think I might be approaching the ‘addiction’ phase of tea drinking! While I certainly won’t say no to just about every type of tea, I do try and find organic tea whenever possible. Growing organic tea is much better for our environment than traditionally grown teas. I recently had the chance to try some organic tea from Paisley Tea Co. and have been very impressed with the varieties that I was sent! If you are not familiar with Paisley Tea Co. here is some information about then from their website:
British by way of India, the paisley pattern, like tea, became popular in the 17th century. Our Paisley blends are inspired by great English tea – rich, robust, dark in the cup and delicious with or without milk.
Paisley Tea is Certified Organic and Fair Trade. They put 10% more tea in every tea bag and come in 4 different varieties including Green Ginger, Double Earl Grey, Decaf English Breakfast and Regular English Breakfast. Paisley Teas are produced by the Two Leaves Tea Company which also offers a number of tea gifts like tea pots and tea samplers. The Paisley Teas come in a box of 24 English style tea bags and are also gluten free and vegan. Their teas are Non-GMO Project verified as well.
Here is a brief summary of each of the varieties of the Paisley organic tea:
Organic Double Earl Grey: A bolder Earl Grey thanks to the addition of citrus bergamot oil.
Organic Ginger Green A blend of green tea and ginger into one mug!
Organic Decaf English Breakfast – A decaffeinated English breakfast tea.
Organic English Breakfast A blend of Indian and African teas for a classic English breakfast tea.

My opinion: I wasn’t sure what the term ‘English style tea bag’ meant and for others who are equally clueless it means that there is no string on your tea bag! This doesn’t particularly bother me but if you have an attachment to the string, just note that you won’t find one on these tea bags. Just use a spoon to retrieve your tea bag and you will never miss it! Since I find that most tea bag strings just end up in the mug anyhow the absence of a string if fine with me.
Flavor wise, I really enjoyed the varieties of organic tea that Paisley sent me to try. The ginger in the green tea is very mild so it does not overpower the actual flavor of the green tea itself. The Earl Grey tea is lightly sweet and fruity with a very distinctive flavor. I did not notice any different between the Decaf English Breakfast tea and the Regular English Breakfast tea. Both had a very rich flavor and aroma. I don’t think you will miss the caffeine at all!
I love that the Paisley Tea Co. teas are sustainably raised and would certainly recommend them as an addition to our own tea selection!
