Fitness Confidential Book Review and #Giveaway

This Fitness Confidential Book Review and giveaway post has been sponsored but all opinions expressed are my own. Getting in shape seems like a goal that I never actually achieve.  I work at it a lot. I eat healthy..most of the time.  I exercise...sometimes.  Okay, I exercise when I start to feel guilty and my pants are starting to not fit any more.  It isn't that I don't WANT to get in shape.  I just seem to lack the motivation.  I am slowly working at it, though, and if you want to get in shape, too, than Fitness Confidential might be a good resource to help guide, motivate and amuse you along your journey to healthier living! Workout Tips for Beginners from a #ReebokMom #sponsored

This post on workout tips for beginners is part of a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Reebok. I received a Famous Footwear gift card to purchase a pair of Reebok shoes to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating. For years, my husband has been an avid runner. He runs in the rain, at 6 AM on a Saturday morning, and in 100 degree temperatures.  Working out is vitally important to him and something he always finds time for.  Personally, I struggle with finding the time and motivation to get out and exercise but I do it.  Mainly so I continue to fit into my pants.  My mom has struggled with her weight her entire life and I am determined to stay healthy, flexible and at a decent weight as I head through middle age.  With two jobs and two kids I have to fit … [Read more...]

Light Up Your Workout Routine With Panther Vision

Have you ever tried walking a hyper dog at night with your hands full of leash, flashlight, and a bag of something that said dog decided to leave in your neighbor's yard?  Ever try running at night while gripping a flashlight in your sweaty hand?  How about camping in the middle of nowhere and trying to pee on a tree at night while holding on to a flashlight and a roll of biodegradable toilet paper?  I have done all of these things and can tell you, an extra hand would have really come in...well...handy!  While walking, running and hiking in the woods are all great additions to your workout routine, they all become a touch more difficult when done at night.  With the hectic schedules that many Americans are dealing with, most people are having to add night time exercise to their workout … [Read more...]

Heath Benefits of Coconut Water in Your Diet

Heath Benefits of Coconut Water in Your Diet

In the last couple of years, my husband has started running marathons and the training can be rather brutal at times.  While I don't mind the occasional jog of a mile or two, he regularly runs 10 or 15 miles (or even more) and actually enjoys it.  Yes, I think he is a little crazy, too, but he is certainly staying healthy!  When he runs, he sweats.  And I don't mean he sweats just a LITTLE bit.  I mean it looks like he jumped in a pool by the time he has finished his run.  Because of this, he really has trouble trying to stay hydrated during his workout.  While Gatorade and Powerade might make great electrolyte replacements, I am not a huge fan of all the other artificial stuff they put in there so we started researching natural electrolyte replacements.  One of the health benefits of … [Read more...]

My Fitness Pal App Makes Fitness Goals Achievable

My Fitness Pal App Makes Fitness Goals Achievable

When I was younger, staying thin and healthy was fairly easy for me.  I ate whatever I wanted and had plenty of free time (and energy!) to exercise.  Then I had 2 kids....and turned 40...and I started noticing a few extra pounds sneaking on.  I found myself skipping dessert for the first time ever and had to force myself to get up and get some exercise now and then.  And those sneaky pounds still haven't come off.  YET!  My New Year's resolution is to pay more attention to what I eat and to increase the amount of exercise that I get so I can drop the extra weight.  Knowing my own personal disposition, I have a feeling this won't be a simple thing to accomplish and I have looked to technology to give me a helping hand.  The My Fitness Pal App offers a number of different services that will … [Read more...]

Sport Earphones: Yurbuds Inspire for Women #INSPIREFORWOMEN

No matter what room of the house you are in or what time of day it is there is almost always music playing in my house.  There is a docking station in several rooms and both floors of the house have a full stereo system.  Needless to say, we spend a lot of money on iTunes!  When we leave the house, we take our music with us on our iPad, iPod, or cell phone depending on which member of the family it is.  I have gone through a lot of ear buds looking for ones that fit comfortably.  There have been some hard plastic ones that I really think would fit anyone comfortably!  I was recently sent Yurbuds Inspire for Women Sport Earphones to try that and was eager to see how comfortable they were. If you are not familiar with Yurbuds, here is some information about them from their website: Our … [Read more...]
