Making Overnight  Oats for Breakfast is EASY!

You know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day right? But, how do you find time for a healthy breakfast when you are trying to find your toddler’s shoes, track down your 10 year old’s homework and feeding the dog?

Morning’s are chaotic but eating a healthy breakfast will help make sure you are fueled up for the day. It will also help prevent you from binging on those donuts your co-workers decided to bring into the office to share with you.

Do you eat overnight oats COLD?

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this easy overnight oats recipe because you eat it cold. Cold oatmeal sounded a little odd. But, I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it really was.

The consistency isn’t like traditional oatmeal. The oats have a slightly chewy texture that I loved instead of a slightly gummy texture like cooked oats normally do. If you are considering a raw diet, this easy overnight oats recipe is a great addition to your meal plan since there is no cooking involved.

Best toppings for overnight oats

The toppings can be varied, depending on your personal tastes. Just keep plenty of fresh fruit, chopped nuts and other ‘add-ins’ on hand to easily throw them on top. I chose to use almond milk for this easy overnight oats recipe but you can use traditional cow’s milk, soy milk or whatever other types of liquid you choose.
