It is the heat of August and my children just started back to school this week. Seems crazy to me but that is the way our school district works, unfortunately. The other day, my husband and I were staring at the calender and trying to figure out if we had time to squeeze one more vacation in before Fall gets here. We are thinking of heading out of town over the Labor Day weekend to go visit some family. Since staying with family isn’t always a lot of fun (too much of a good thing, you know?) we are considering staying at a hotel for a day or two. As an Embassy Suites ambassador, I got to stay in one of their hotels this summer for our trip to South Carolina and it was an incredible experience. I would love it if I could find one nearby to my husband’s family so we could stay at another one! If you aren’t familiar with Embassy Suites, here is a little bit about them from their website:

Embassy Suites Hotels® is the nation’s largest brand of upscale, all-suite hotels. It is the only all-suite hotel experience that offers open-air atriums; spacious two-room suites; free cooked-to order breakfast; and a complimentary Manager’s Reception*.

Embassy Suites has locations all over the US as well as in a few other countries. We had an amazing time when we stayed in one in Charleston and the friendly staff made our stay very enjoyable. The best part was the full cooked to order breakfast that we got to eat in the open atrium with palm trees! The atmosphere was amazing but being able to fill up on a good breakfast before we started site seeing was extremely helpful.

Embassy Suites has paired up with Dr. Susan Biali who wrote the book Live a Life You Love: 7 Steps to a Healthier, Happier, More Passionate You to help families get more out of their summer vacations. Here are a few helpful tips to keep in mind if you are planning a last minute summer getaway:

1. A 3 day vacation stay is helpful in order to get the most ‘relaxation’ for the money!

2. Start planning early to avoid last minute stress!

3. Work a buffer day into your schedule if possible so you don’t have to rush right back to work.

4. Make your budget go further by staying in a hotel that provides amenities to make your vacation more enjoyable.

5. After your vacation is over, don’t forget the fun times you had! Make a scrapbook or a pretty photo frame to help preserve your vacation memories!

My family really enjoyed our stay at Embassy Suites and I look forward to trying this hotel chain in other spots we decide to visit. Having time to sit down and enjoy a good breakfast, lounge by the pool, and enjoy the nightly manager’s reception made our time together a lot of fun but was also very relaxing! Stressful vacations are not fun for anybody! We chose to stay right in the heart of the city and ditched the car in favor of walking to the many tourist attractions in the area. It was good exercise and we got to chat with each other instead of yell at crazy drivers! Sure, it was hot but we splurged on fresh lemonade from a roadside stand and enjoyed it anyhow!

You can get MORE out of your next vacation…summer isn’t over yet! Start planning now and make sure to pick a family friendly hotel that offers the amenities you need to make your stay enjoyable!
