Getting Fit One Step at a Time! #fitness

Fitness Friday
So,  the holidays are fast approaching and along with them comes the cookies, candies, eggnog, company parties and all those other sweet and tasty events that conspire to add inches to our hips and make our diet goals just fly out the window! There is no magic pill when it comes to keeping weight off…it is a numerical formula…how many calories come IN and how many calories get burned OFF. Since I have no willpower when it comes to sweets, my caloric intake is going to go UP in the next few months. The only way I am going to continue to fit into my pants is if I increase the amount of exercise I get and here is where YOU ALL are going to help!
Every Friday from now on is going to be Fitness Friday! Topics covered in these blog posts might be reviews of exercise products, quick facts about fitness and health,  a vent about how hard it is to get exercise when all my kids do is moan and groan when I ask them to come for a walk with me! The one thing I will try and focus on every Friday is fitness, in all it’s different ways, shapes, and forms.
I have some great product reviews coming up in the next few weeks for those of you who would like to learn more about ways to get fit. I have teamed up with a company called Fitbit that makes a handy little high tech gadget that helps motivate you to get moving a little bit more every day. Think really high tech pedometer that can also help you monitor sleep patterns and provide a supportive online community to lean on and a ton of other features.
There will be other product reviews, lifestyle suggestions, fitness facts, and whatever else I happen to be inspired to write about. Why? Because I want to be held accountable for getting myself in better shape. I have always preferred a good book and my recliner than my running shoes and a steep hill and since my mother has battled her weight for her entire life…I know that needs to change!
I am not going to be running marathons any time soon (although my husband is…GRRR…him and his  motivated self!) but I WILL be getting fit…one step at a time!
I would love for you to join me in my quest for fitness!
Anyone interested in a linky so we can support each other on our journey?

Love the idea of Fitness Friday. I just stepped up my workouts and I'm excited about my progress already. I'm looking forward to your posts!
  2. Looking forward to it! I'm a huge fitness nut!
  3. I would like a linky as I also need to be held accountable. My son know goes to school and there is a walking track that I need to use. So I think this would help me.
  4. Focusing on fitness BEFORE the holidays? Yes! What a great idea! Why did I never think of that? It would make that post-feasting weight so much easier to lose (and hopefully non-existent.)
  5. Exactly [email protected], and we should bear in mind that this coming holidays we shoul control ourself in what we eat, because if we fail it then our efforts in workouts will in vain.
