If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that I am very big on trying to lead a green and ecofriendly life. I have always tried to stress to my followers that this is a process that requires baby steps. If (every day) one person made the choice to do ONE green thing, our planet would be well on it’s way to becoming healthier. Every individual, group, organization, and company should strive to take action. As it says in my blog header…One Ecofriendly Step at a Time!

I was recently contacted by the folks at SC Johnson and asked if I would be interested in writing for their Greener Choices website. I was intrigued by this idea and did a little bit of research to learn more about the company. SC Johnson makes everything from cleaning products to plastic sandwich bags so I am sure you have come across their brands in your trips through the grocery store isle.
What really impressed me was some of the changes they are making to try to do their part to help reduce their ecological footprint. Their Nature’s Source cleaning product line is made with simple, biodegradable, plant-based ingredients. They now offer the Ziploc brand bags (the Evolve product line) that are made with 25 percent less plastic and are manufactured using wind power. Personally, I use their reusable storage containers all the time in my kid’s lunchboxes for things like goldfish crackers or pretzels!

So, what will my role be at SC Johnson? I have become a guest blogger on their Greener Choices website. The goal of this site is to provide readers with simple changes that they can make in their everyday lives to lessen their ecological footprint. There will be articles on conserving energy, doing more with less, tips on reducing and recycling, and a section that will suggest everyday alternatives that are ‘greener’ than what you may be doing right now.

This week’s article has been posted and I would love for you to check it out! And don’t forget, depending on what region of the world you happen to live in you may still be able to plant some pretty tasty things in your garden!
