Things have been very stressful the last couple of weeks as I prepare to head out on vacation. I am running around trying to get the dog’s vet records updated, buying food for our trip, and getting the garden squared away the best I can. My feet are tired and I have not painted my pore nails in weeks. Needless to say, before I hit the beach or even think about putting on a pair of sandals my feet need some serious pampering. Nothing helps relax me and get my feet flip flop ready more than a nice foot scrub! When I was trying to come up with a scent for my latest DIY foot scrub recipe I decided that nothing says ‘summer relaxation’ more than a nice mojito! The aroma of limes and mint are invigorating and relaxing all at the same time!
I chose to use organic Sucanat, which is a whole unrefined cane sugar. The aroma smells almost like molasses and it reminded me a bit of a dark rum. I decided I would rather DRINK the actual rum than put it in my foot scrub! You can make this foot scrub recipe with just about any kind of sugar you have on hand. Using a traditional white sugar would give you more of a green tint to the scrub which I may try the next time I make this. When you are adding the mint essential oil do it slowly, a few drops at a time so you don’t over power the lime smell.

I’m giving this a like and a pin. I want to try this! My feet need some TLC & I don’t always have the money (or want to spend it) to go to get a pedicure. Thanks for sharing & happy Friday!
Since there is fresh items in this recipe, how long does it usually last in a jar?
Thank you the great recipe!
I generally don’t save sugar scrubs for more than a couple of weeks.
