What’s so great about fresh guacamole? EVERYTHING!
I grew up in New England and honestly never even TRIED an avocado until I moved to Texas after college. My mom served traditional meat and potatoes type meals and there were not a lot of avocados available in our Connecticut grocery stores back then!
My journey to Houston opened up a lot of new taste buds for me! I am happy to say that today I am pretty much open to trying just about anything that is put on my plate! One of the most delicious discoveries I made was the avocado and I love making homemade guacamole whenever I have the chance.
I enjoy being able to control the heat level myself and I can make it a little bit on the chunky side rather than smooth and creamy. The other big perk to homemade guacamole is being able to control things like the amount of salt and artificial ingredients that get added into it!
So, here is a very simple recipe for homemade guacamole for you to try next time you get a craving for avocados! Serve it in a traditional style Mexican avocado bowl for a bit of pizzazz!
