This weekend I sent my husband an email at work to remind him to buy his mother a card for Mothers Day. It is approaching rather quickly and I need to figure out what to get my own mom for this special day. Mothers Day isn’t something I want my family to make a big deal of. I don’t need jewelry or fancy trips or any of the other extremely expensive Mothers Day gift ideas I see advertised recently. All I really want is some time to relax and a few hours to do something fun with my family. I am a simple creature. My ideal way to spend the day would be an at home spa day and a trip for ice cream with my kids and husband. Ice cream and a hot bath can go a long way towards making mommy a happier person. (give mom some tub tea if you really want to see her smile!)! If you have a mom with simple tastes, this rose petal sugar scrub is a quick and easy DIY Mothers Day gift.
When I moved into my current house 10 years ago, the yard was filled with rose bushes. I have managed to keep most of them alive over the years (surprise, surprise!) and the roses have just started blooming in the last week or so. Looking at my rose bushes is what inspired my to make this DIY Mothers Day gift…and I think I am going to keep it for myself! If you have a food processor, making this homemade sugar scrub is incredibly easy. Just throw the ingredients together and process for a few seconds. The smell of this rose petal sugar scrub is beautiful and you can package it nicely in a pretty glass jar with lid. This DIY Mothers Day gift is sure to please any mom who loves to treat herself to an at home spa treatment!
