This breast cancer awareness post has been sponsored but all opinions expressed here are my own.
In my life before kids, chaos and social media, I worked in a laboratory doing cancer research. It was an exciting and interesting field but also a very sad one. Cancer is one of those things that we understand quite well, only we don’t know how to stop it. The people who are diagnosed with this disease have a long and rather horrible journey to take and I wish scientist could get to the bottom of this mysterious illness. Breast cancer has hit a few of my friends and neighbors over the years and I am truly amazed at their strength in overcoming this disease. I really think we need to put more money into cancer research so that maybe, one day, our friends and loved ones won’t ever hear the word ‘cancer’ as a diagnosis. Right now, though, our best bet for women to beat breast cancer is early detection and that means mammograms.
Support Breast Cancer Research
The Breast Cancer Site was founded to help fund free mammograms for women in need — women for whom early detection would not otherwise be possible. Since its launch in October 2000, the site has established itself as a leader in online activism and in the fight to prevent breast cancer deaths. The site offers tons of useful information regarding mammogram screening and there are stories of hope and survival from women who have beat this disease. If you want to get involved in the cause you can sign petitions to support breast cancer research and learn more about current issues that effect all women. You can also do some shopping in the breast cancer store. For every item purchased at the Breast Cancer Site store, 3% to 50% of the retail price is donated to fund free mammograms for women in need, breast cancer research, and care for women with the disease. The Breast Cancer Site Store offers a wide array of items to show your support, including pink ribbon jewelry, apparel and gifts.
The Breast Cancer Site is sponsoring a giveaway to support and promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Celebrate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a chance to win! You will be asked to enter your email address for a chance to win a FREE Embroidered Hope Pink Ribbon Hooded Sweatshirt.
