Many thanks to Mom Trends, Party Bluprints and Aladdin PMI for sponsoring the Atlanta luncheon. As a thankyou for attending and writing about the event I will receive products and promotional items from the sponsors.
It’s not every day that I manage to get into Atlanta but occasionally I step outside of my little suburban bubble to enjoy a little bit of upscale socializing. Last week I was thrilled to be invited to attend a southern style luncheon at the Piedmont Estate in Buckhead, Atlanta. The folks at Mom Trends, along with Aladdin PMI and Party Blueprints invited a number of bloggers to enjoy an afternoon of southern style food and good company. The afternoon’s festivities were to celebrate the arrival of the new Aladdin Mason Entertaining Collection.

Aladdin Southern Style Luncheon
The Aladdin Mason collection provided the luncheon with a real old fashion southern charm. The classic mason jar look brings to mind backyard barbeques, hot summer days, and southern hospitality. The fresh cut flowers in Aladdin mugs and elegant place settings were a beautiful touch. I was especially impressed with the magnolia leaf place settings with our names hand written on each one. They were a lovely touch! I must say, the food was delicious and definitely fit the southern theme. Fried chicken, collard greens and sweet potatoes may sound simple but the elegant twist that the chef put on them made them so much more upscale! And the dessert….let me just tell you that I have never in my life eaten such a delicious creation! Layers of cake, fruit, whipped cream, lemon curd and a raspberry coulis were served family style and definitely enjoyed by all! If you want information on how to serve this at your own gathering, Party BluPrints has some great tips!
There were unique touches to the afternoon that really made the day memorable. There was a “Mug Shot” station where we took time to toast friends, good times and a happy life. Each of us was given a jar of spice rub to take home with us that we could customize to our own tastes at the DIY BBQ Rub Station. I chose to add a bit of sweet brown sugar and some cayenne pepper to add a bit of heat. I can’t wait to try it out when we grill this summer!
The location that Mom Trends chose for the Southern Style Luncheon has an amazing history. The Piedmont Estate in Buckhead, Atlanta is actually an antebellum mansion that was built circa 1797. It is set back from the road a bit and protected by a wrought iron fence giving it a very old fashioned southern feel to it. It was actually built in Wilkes County, Georgia but was very carefully moved brick by brick and rebuilt at it’s current location on Piedmont road. While it has been modernized to some degree, the original features of the home remain, including the jail cell turned wine cellar located downstairs! If you are looking for historical elegance for your next event, you will find it at The Piedmont Estate!
I had a wonderful afternoon chatting with my fellow bloggers and getting to know the faces behind Mom Trends and Aladdin. It was an afternoon of true southern comfort including amazing food, good friends and an elegant atmosphere!

My mom would love it too…so much cool history!
I don’t know what I love more…that we are both Atlanta area bloggers, the Aladdin Southern Style Luncheon, or Piedmont Estate? All of these things look absolutely amazing. I am adding Piedmont Estate to my list of places I need to visit. How cute are all those Mason jars? I am in love!
