I am always looking for high protein snack ideas to help balance my blood sugar. While carbohydrates give an immediate boost to blood sugar levels, they quickly plummet again if you don’t have some protein to go along with it. High protein snack ideas include things like nuts, seeds, low fat dairy products and eggs which are all tasty ways to boost your protein intake. We go through a lot of eggs in my house but there are only so many ways to cook them in a week before you get really tired of them. Scrambled, fried, hard boiled or poached on a piece of whole wheat toast…eggs are a great source of protein! Up until now, I have never really considered adding eggs into a smoothie recipe because the whole ‘raw egg thing’ kindof makes me a bit squeamish. But, I recently had the chance to try out All Whites 100% Liquid Egg Whites and I think I have found a great new source of protein.

Green Glow Power Punch
- 1 cup chopped kale or baby spinach leaves
- 1 cup cucumber chunks
- 1 medium kiwifruit, peeled, chopped
- 1/2 cup AllWhites® Egg Whites
- 1/4 cup packed fresh mint or basil leaves
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- 1/2 cup Orange Juice
- Combine all ingredients in a blender container.
- Cover and blend on medium speed until smooth.
- Serve immediately.
