This school lunch post has been brought to you by TapInfluence and Applegate but all opinions expressed here are my own.
My children have always hated the food offered through the school lunch program. The grilled cheese is soggy, the canned green beans are squishy and many of the offerings are not readily identified as food. Needless to say, they don’t buy school lunch very often. What does that mean for me? Basically, it means that I am awake every morning at 5 AM packing three lunches…every sing day (two kids, one husband…they eat a lot of food!). 5 AM is not the most pleasant time of day to be awake every morning…and I have been known to send children with the wrong lunch due to tired mom syndrome. Sorry, baby girl, I didn’t mean to give you your brother’s chocolate milk and spicy pretzels…I know those aren’t your favorites! Am I the only one that has done that?

I love that there is actually a GOOD meal like this for kids. It’s so hard to find fun things that are healthy too.
My kids are adults, I’m needing this option for my husband and I when we have to travel out of town to doctor appointments. We love clean meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, and snacks that are made without processed junk.
I admit, I ate one of them and really enjoyed it! Definitely not just for kids!
I have always packed lunches until this year. This year the kids decided they wanted hot lunch at school. Both have already requested to go back to packed. 😉 I do pack healthy things like peanut butter, apples, grapes, and orange slices. I would love to find a way to pack veggies and know they’d eat them. I’m thinking carrots and ranch would work for my daughter (one example), but my little guy has me stumped.
I put veggies IN things…butternut squash muffins, zucchini bread, carrot cake….they eat them without knowing they have veggies in there!
Yes I do pack their lunch. I use whole wheat bread and lettuce to make it healthy
We usually give them a ham or turkey sandwich, a bag of chips and a snack cake. The snack cake is the most important thing for them.
I don’t pack them, my kids do : ) they love any fresh fruit in their lunches.
We include cheese, fruit, and some veggies.
I pack their lunches and they like PB&J sandwiches.
I do pack her lunch (and my husbands) hahaha. I like to include baby carrots, broccoli or celery sticks. When I cannot purchase organic applesauce I make my own at home and pack her some too. A grilled cheese sandwich or food art like happy faces or Mickey mouse pancakes is nice too.
I always pack fruit.
We pack lunches when we are going somewhere and don’t want to stop for food.
I try to pack things that they can’t make too much of a mess with like fruit and sandwiches.
sometimes I liked to pack fruit and string cheese.
yes i pack all of our lunches. i like to include lots of fresh fruit, nuts and berries.
My son takes packed lunches. He like ham and cheese, yogurt and fruit snacks.
