The kids are off to school and with the cost of supplies, haircuts, shoes, and PTA donations, we are definitely wracking up the bills this month. My family is lucky to be financially stable but there are so many kids in this country that don’t get new back to school supplies because their parents just can’t afford to buy them. A lot of kids are going to school without much needed supplies and coming home to empty houses because both parents are working multiple jobs just to pay the bills. Well, the Boys and Girls Club of America has been trying to help these families by providing a safe, affordable place for kids to stay during non-school hours and during the summer. This gives them a chance to play, have fun, laugh and learn in a safe environment. They offer a wide range of programs including arts, education, sports and leadership to name just a few!
Boys and Girls Club of America
This month, The Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) and Disney have partnered to launch the Tools for Back to School initiative. This initiative features a pop-quiz style game, where supplies are donated to BGCA for every correct answer you score. This is a great way for you to make a donation to the BGCA without any out of pocket expenses! Play the Game and help out a child in need! One of the things the BGCA spends the most time and resources on is homework help so they need all the supplies they can get!
BGCA has also partnered with JC Penney and in August you can join jcp cares and round up your purchase at the register to benefit BGCA. You probably won’t even notice the difference between your $12.50 purchase and a $13.00 purchase but those extra pennies will be put to good use by the BGCA to help underprivileged kids!

Education, leadership, and having a safe environment to play in are vital if a child is going to grow up to be successful. The Boys and Girls Club of America wants to make a difference in the lives of as many children as the can but they need your help!
