Many years ago, I went to the doctor for a muscle spasm in my shoulder that would not go away.  Little did I know that it was the beginning of a very long battle with chronic pain. After a year of over the counter pain medications and muscle relaxers, my doctor sent me to physical therapy because I was getting worse instead of better.  Years later, with a diagnosis of Myofascial Pain Syndrome, I have moved away from much of the ‘doctor prescribed’ therapies and switched to a more natural approach.

This Mango Turmeric Smoothie Recipe has natural pain relieving and anti inflammatory properties. Delicious and filling, it is an easy smoothie recipe packed full of nutrition.

In addition to anti-inflammatory and pain relieving supplements, I include a number of foods in my diet that contain the same properties. Did you know that food can fight pain?  Turmeric is full of natural pain relieving properties and so is ginger so these two foods make it into a lot of my weekly recipes.  Did you know that mangos also contain anti-inflammatory properties? Since they are delicious, they were the perfect addition to this smoothie!  This mango turmeric smoothie recipe is a delicious way to start your day!

How to cut a mango

Up until now, mangos scared me.  I seriously had no idea how to slice the darn things.  Every time I tried, I made a GIANT mess and was left with very little actual mango.  However, I just purchased a mango slicer and seriously, this is the most amazing tool I have ever discovered!  Just press down firmly and push it right through the center of the mango.  Slice the fleshy part into strips and run a knife between the flesh and the skin.  You can have fresh mango in only a few minutes with barely any work!  Best thing ever!

Once you have the fresh mango sliced, dump it along with all the other ingredients into the blender for a few seconds and voila!  You have a delicious and filling mango turmeric smoothie recipe to start your day off right.  Pair your nutritious smoothie with some Curamin®  and you are well on your way to a naturally pain-free day. I purchased my Curamin® supplement in my local Sprouts and the staff was very helpful!
