Homemade Peanut Sauce

What can you use Peanut Sauce for?

Up until a few years ago, I really didn’t have much experience with Thai food. After discovering an amazing Thai restaurant right near my house, however, I am not sure how I ever survived without some of these delicious flavors!

My favorite flavor combination of all time is Thai peanut sauce. The combination of sesame oil, peanut butter, and soy sauce just makes my mouth incredibly happy. The thing I love most about this Thai peanut sauce recipe is that it can be used to grill chicken, pour over salads, as a dip, or as a sauce for your favorite noodle dish.

It takes only a few simple ingredients to make and absolutely zero cooking. If you enjoy the flavor of Thai peanut sauce, this recipe was a huge hit at dinner tonight!

  • 1/4 cup high quality peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 TBSP rice wine vinegar
  • 1 TBSP brown sugar
  • up to 1 TBSP sriracha (depending on taste)
  • 1 TBS sesame oil
  • 2 TBSP sesame seeds

How to make your own peanut sauce

Making your own Spicy Thai peanut sauce is incredibly easy.  Just combine all ingredients into a large bowl and whisk briskly until completely smooth and combined.  Use it as a sauce for noodles, to baste chicken with on the grill, or as a dip. To use this as a salad dressing, thin slightly with water to desired consistency.

Comments

  1. This sounds delicious. I love peanut sauce. It goes really well on so many different things.

  2. I absolutely love going to Thai restaurants but have no experience cooking it at home. I love the curry, peanut sauce and coconut milk that is often used in Thai cooking. This is a recipe I know my family will enjoy. I’ll be trying it for sure.

  3. I love Satay and this looks delicious. This looks easy to do. I will save this for later.

  4. I’ve made a peanut sauce before for a Thai dish. It was very popular. I’ll have to try your recipe!

  5. Sarah Midthun says

Made this last night and it was FANTASTIC! I added a little garlic and ginger honey and a little more siracha and peanut butter. I used the sauce over a rice noodle bowl. Saute matchstick carrots, julianned red pepper and cut up chicken breast. Boil Rice Noodles & Drain (do not rinse). Then stir all ingredients together! I like Annie Chuns brand of rice noodle- thinner than the Thai Kitchen brand.

  6. Delicious & easy! Will definitely make again.
