Avocado Cilantro Crema Recipe

Last Updated on

After recently trying avocado cilantro crema for the first time, I can tell you that this stuff is like crack! Several years ago, my husband and I were out exploring a new farm to table restaurant. They had Pommes Frites on the menu which I had never heard of before. You know what Pommes Frites are? Basically it is a fancy word for French fries.  And they are DELICIOUS in this avocado dipping sauce!

Avocado Cilantro Crema and French Fries

The amazing thing about these Pommes Frites was not that I had never seen a French fry before. What really amazed me was that you could choose from dozens of dipping sauces for them! And only one of those was a type of ketchup!  I love unique dipping sauces for French Fries and when I saw avocado crema on the menu, I was intrigued!

A Dipping Sauce Way Better Than Ketchup!

Yes, they served French Fries with things other than ketchup to dip them in! I was truly shocked at this creativity. Ever since then, I have been trying out a wide array of dipping sauces for my French fries, including this delicious Avocado Cilantro Crema that I made yesterday. Who says you can only dip Mexican food in Mexican dipping sauce, right? And it is perfectly fine to use overripe avocados if you need to.

Other Avocado Recipe to Try

This avocado cilantro crema is essentially a very creamy variety of guacamole minus the tomatoes. If you like guacamole then you will definitely love dipping your Pommes Frites in this avocado cilantro crema! It is incredibly easy to make and takes only a few minutes to put together.

Just throw all the ingredients for this delicious dipping sauce into the food processor and blend for a minute. If you prefer your avocado cilantro crema to be a bit spicy, throw in a tad bit of fresh jalapeno before you blend it up. You can also put this into a squeeze bottle and drizzle over tacos or use as a dipping sauce for your favorite Mexican foods. Love avocado recipes? Check out the Absolutely Avocados Cookbook!
