Want to make homemade pizza but tired of pepperoni and red sauce? Barbecue Chicken French Bread Pizza combines tangy BBQ sauce with bold flavors of red onion and cilantro. Chicken pizza never tasted so good!
Homemade pizzas are a great weeknight meal!
Most days I really enjoy being in the kitchen cooking. There’s something relaxing and satisfying about chopping, mixing and simmering. There’s a sense of satisfaction when all of your hard work comes to fruition in the form of a tasty meal to serve your family.
I am forever telling my kids to learn to enjoy the process of cooking as much as the end product. But, then there are days when I just want to get in, get them fed, and get the heck out of the kitchen as quickly as possible. That’s why I always keep a few key ingredients in my pantry for emergencies. A bottle of barbecue sauce can help create an awful lot of meals when you are hungry and in a hurry!
BBQ Chicken Pizza is NOT weird!
I absolutely love California Pizza Kitchen’s barbecue chicken pizza but it is ridiculously expensive to fill up my family on the size pizza in their box. I read the box label last time I was at the grocery store and decided to make it myself with the help of a bottle of Annie’s barbecue sauce.
Yes, I could make barbecue sauce myself from scratch but that defeats the entire concept of ‘dinner in a hurry’ that I was going for tonight. At least it was organic and all natural, right? I had some leftover grilled chicken breast from our weekend cookout and grabbed a couple loaves of French bread from the bakery.

This barbecue chicken pizza is honestly delicious but if your family prefers other toppings you can easily make up half a loaf of French bread with their preferred ingredients. You control the toppings on your French bread pizza and you will save yourself a fortune in delivery fees and tips to the pizza delivery guy! I forced the teens into making us a salad to go with this meal (OH the abuse!) and we were in and out of the kitchen in no time!
